Question about tumbler media

I haven't cleaned any brass for about a year now and put some though yesterday and now all my brass has fine powder on it. Is there a "best before" date on nut media?? I bought this batch about 5 years ago now.

Nope. That's just dust. You can buy a big bag(20 kg) of small pet bedding in any pet supply shop for under $20 though.

Throw a bounce sheet in the tumbler every time.

bounce sheet cut into pieces and some new finish car polish works great i use it all the time im going to try the walnut media for my next one im reading its better than the corn cob media hound13

Same here. I used to use bounce sheets and they worked well to cut down on dust. Now I just use paper towel or a rag cut up into strips with good results. I also add a bit of rice to the walnut media and I find it helps a bit with the dust and with keeping the media a bit cleaner.
