I found a used fiberglass M1A M-14 rifle stock. This is an original, used M1A M14 fiberglass stock. That is all the info. I have on them. No butt plates apparently. My question is will this fit on a Norinco M305? Thanks.

be sure and read the stickies esp the popscile "fix" re the pin - this is NOT a simple drop in

It is a simple drop-in, but because the M-14 had extra parts to facilitate automatic fire it's connector lock pin is longer than the connector lock pin on the semi-automatic-only variants of the M-14. The shorter connector lock pin on the Chinese M-14S/M-305, when placed in an unmodified USGI M-14 stock, has a tendency to move laterally under recoil. If this happens the recoil spring guide may be released. And if this happens the magazine may become trapped in the receiver, requiring disassembly of the rifle to correct the problem.

The popsicle stick modification, or something like it, is easy. All that has to be is to ensure that the connector lock pin is supported by the stock. Alternatively, one could replace the (short) connector lock pin with a USGI length (longer) connector lock pin.

Easy.

Define simple. The popsicle fix can be done with epoxy/glue/whatever. I built up a little spacer with gas tank repair putty.

If you don't think that's simple, you must never take your guns apart past 'open the action'. :D
