I just picked up some used Sig 226 mags to use with my NP22. At first glance, they are identical to the Norinco mags that came with my gun. Trouble is, they don't seem to want to lock into the mag well.
I put my digital calipers on them to compare the Sig mags with the NP22 mags. Measuring to the mag catch hole from the same reference point (the mag lip), I'm getting a 0.02" difference....just enough to prevent the Sig mags from engaging the mag catch.
Would it be a good idea to take a sliver of material off with a Dremmel or file in order to widen the mag catch hole on the Sig mags? I don't want to do something that is quite irreversable before hearing what others think. Thanks.
