I am looking at buying a Cooey .308 from a buddy. I would like to have this for two reasons:
A. There are not too many Canadian Made .308s and would make a nice piece for the collection.
B. I kinda want a .308 hunting rifle.
I was thinking of putting a synthetic stock (or just a replacement) on it and putting the original stock in storage as it has a small crack in it.
I assume that a Win model 70 stock will fit with no problems but I noticed the the Cooey does not have a hinged floor plate and every Winchester 70 I have seen does. So can a win 70 stock be found without a floor plate hole? or Can I just throw on a floor plate from a model 70?
