Question: Colt NM slidelock

If you mean lock open after the last round is fired...yep. Also, if you pull back on an empty mag...yep.

x2...every 1911 I have or had did. Try a different mag in the gun. You might want to check the slide release and cutout on the slide for wear.

Colt Slidelock Problem Found

Thanks guys.
I looked real close at the slidelock catch as it protrudes inside the frame. Discovered the tip of the slidelock catch which is pushed on by the magazine follower when empty, was chipped off, piece missing. So, broken piece. Slidelock catch needs to be replaced. Will be talking with Colt about this tomorrow.

Colt NM Slidlock Catch

Talked with Colt, they wereno help. Referred me to Brownells or Midway.
So I callled Gunner at Armco. A new Colt replacement slidelockcatch is in the mail from Armco. Thanks Gunner! :)

It may have been modified to prevent slide lock but if you think it's clearly broken than it's broken. Some folks actually grind down the slide stop to prevent slide lock as it's been known to happen when there are still rounds in the mag.
