Hello 10/22 build experts.
Does anyone have any experience with TROY products, particularly the T-22 TACTICAL CHASSIS? How are they for precision and quality compared to say, NEA ?
Any input would be greatly apreciated!
Thanks.

Yes, I have a Troy T-22. Love it. Super light weight, great fit and finish and fits very well. It's a little pricy but it does comes with Troy Iron sights built in which would cost you a fair bit to buy seperately. Couple things to be aware of is the buffer tube is mil-spec not comercial and only AR15 grips without the flare at the back will fit.

I don't have any experience with the NEA chassis. I almost bought one when they went on clearance but I didn't like the color of the anodizing. It seems more like a cloudy black.

Thanks juancarlos. Is this a cnc machined chassis? And is the forearm short enough for a 12.5" barrel + flash supressor?
It sounds really nice!

It is CNC Machined and comes in two parts which fit together very tight. I would have to measure to be sure about the barrel lenght. I have a 16 inch barrel and it sticks out about 2-3 inches. I think likely a 12.5 inch would be hidden inside the floating handguard. I can measure tonight and get back to you. How long is the barrel with the flash supressor attached?

That would be great if you could measure that for me. Thanks! I dont know for sure, but a flash supressor will add about 1.5" +/-.
I'm glad to hear that everything fits nice and tight.
Thanks for your help.

To bad I didn't get that info about that stock size sooner! I already have an order in for the sport and a mil-spec buffer tube and it's ready for export.

I was getting conflicting information from sites... Some said it was commercial others said mil-spec.

Did you pick-up the sport or the tactical version?

So my 16 inch barrel sticks out 2 3/4 inch from the front. So you would need a total barrel length of 13 1/4 to be flush. If your flash suppressor extends the barrel length 1 1/2 inch you should be fine at 14 inch.

I purchased the Sport version. Bought from FabSports a few months ago. Goes really nicely with the TacSol barrel, super light weight.

The only problem I have been having is trying to get the Troy TRX rails to attach. No one seems to have them in Canada and no one in the USA will export them. I tried using a Samson rail but the screws are too short to get a good threadlock.

Thanks juancarlos, sounds like the 12.5" + flash supressor will work. Should give a nice clean look.
any thoughts on Dlask barrels?

Dlask barrels are top-notch products... very well made, excellent fit/finish and extremely accurate... we have four now and three more on the way.

Thanks hoytcanon,
you guys are being really helpful!
how is the Dalsk's Bentz chamber during rapid fire? Any problems when you try to run a 25 rnd mag as fast as you can?

I will be able to help on the dlask question soon! Finally gave in and ordered a 16.5" .920 and a Hogue OM today. I will create a thread when I receive the parts to finally COMPLETE my build, outlining the experience with dlask.

If your worried about the Bentz chamber you can order it in a sporter chamber. It won't be as accurate but you won't have to worry about rapid fire or using CCI ammo.

Hi Hoyt,

In your experience when dealing with Dlask, are they willing to customize there barrels? For example, would they be willing to chamber a barrel specifically for CCI loads? Or are they pretty stiff? I would buy that 12.5" sporter they have if it came in stainless steel (they only make it in blued). Even better if the could cut the chamber for CCI loads.

thanks!

Yes, Dlask will chamber it in a sporter chamber. When you order it put it in the notes that that is what you want instead of the Bentz chamber. It will fire CCI ammo safely in the sporter chamber but still no go for Stingers. It will still be plenty accurate but more dependant on your ammo selection. Joe told me that cheaper ammo will not give you match results with this chamber.

I do have a Lucid HD7 for the T-22 but I was too lazy to put it on for the pics. Thanks for the compliment though.

Very nice! I really like the way the chassis looks and it will be a bit more unique than all the SR-22s.

For my build I have a Magpul MOE stock in OD awaiting the chassis and a MOE-K grip in OD on order. Also looking at the TacSol barrel in matte OD. Already painted one of my Butler Creek magazines in ultra flat OD.

I'm leaning towards the Burris FastFire with AR-F3 mount for a red dot, it should look pretty slick on that chassis.

If you find a supplier for the rail sections please let me know as I would like to get a couple as well.

I tried the MOE-K grip in FDE and liked the look but not the feel. It was just to short and narrow for me, and I have smaller hands so I went to the Hogue.

I ordered some rails from Cobra Tactical in the US and then followed up with a phone call to ensure they would send it to Canada. They said no problem and are waiting on it from Troy before sending. I am still sceptical though. I'll let you know if I actually get them. BTW, shipping was an outrageous flat rate.

pretty sweet! where did you get your chassis and was the tactical version available ?

Bought from FabSports. I think they are out now. They didn't have the tactical version available. I am not sure if they did have it previously.

cool..
I've just ordered the same chassis as yours and i should have it in a couple of weeks. I'll search for trx rail kits as well, as that is the only difference between the sport and tactical models.
ok, more questions about bentz chambers.
Is it safe to assume that it will feed most ammo except stingers? how about mini mags? Or regular bulk Federal, etc. ?
Any input helps greatly.
