I owned a Mini 14 Ranch Rifle in the mid-90's and it was an unmitigated POS as far as accuracy was concerned. Minute of pie plate @ 100 yards even with a scope.

I'm not looking for sub MOA groups but 3 shots inside 2-3" would be acceptable.

Are the newer ones up to that?

The one I have does about 2 MOA. The one I sold was the same. Both with factory fodder; I've never tried with decent reloads.

I think everyone should have one!

At 100 yards I get about a 10 foot group, I had to drill my gas port because it was too small from the factory to cycle

Mine is about 2" or so aw well. It likes the heavier bullets better (55 gr) than the lighter ones 40's and 50's. It also does a littel better with my reloads, but for the fun of it, i shoot the norc stuff, no not all that uptight about the groups. They are a really fun rifle, just be carefull of the shooter next to you on the right or two - they may get a hot casing in the face. I hang a curtain at my range to stop that.

Have fun!

Ive managed to get 5 shots into a 2-2.5" group with the el cheapo norinco surplus. Tho for some reason I cant hit S*** at 200 and beyond, I like to blame the fat front site =P
