I am in the process of getting a mosin pu sniper, and suggestions on grouping & zeroing, ammo( both factory and reloads) or any other mods from some pu sniper owners out there? Also any range reports and or group sizes to expect? I have a lot of experience shooting long range with 308, 338, and .50 so I understand how to group and shoot long range, but I have a guilty pleasure and that is soviet firearms! It started with an sks, because everyone says you have to own at least one...and they are correct at LEAST one. That led to a m44 mosin, then a TT-33, then an SVT-40, then a Makarov, and now a Mosin PU sniper that I have had my eye on for a while, and as the price on these are slowly creeping up I might as well grab one now as I have wanted one since enemy at the gates came out.
PS, I don't expect this rifle to keep up with a modern rifle but would like to see what all I can do with this old girl. I am prepared to reload, and or buy Hornady or Privi ammo but would like to see what it will do with surplus ammo, the way Stalin intended it to be!
