I have a question for my fellow CGunners in QC who reload. Is any of you using Ramshot powders? If yes, where are you getting it from?

I would like to get some Ramshot TAC for my .223 reloads as well as some Silhouette for my handgun reloads, but I just can't find them anywhere near Montreal. Thanks.

No I haven't asked. I am trying to find a local supplier, too. If I had to order from BC I would rather go with VV powders and just go pick it up from Higginson myself.

Quebec is a big province. What do you consider "local"?

If you're in the Montreal area I'd call Dante in Montreal and Londero Sports in St Jean sur Richelieu.

The prices for powders are hard to beat at Londero even when you compare to
Higginson.
I bought an 8# jug of Varget for $200 +tx which is the same price as it is from Higginson but it doesn't come in a plastic bag and a cardboard box.

Personally if I had a choice between ram shot or vv I'd take vv everytime and now with gas prices what they are it's sometimes cheaper to ship across the country then to drive to a local spot. I'd also recommend londero sports I have ordered alot from them they keep a big reloading inventory

Thank you guys for your answers.

I want to try TAC because it is a ball powder which should meter well in my RL550B when loading .223 ammo, and I haven't read enough positive things about WC748/BLC-2 to convince me to try them. I know VV may well be the better powder and I might end up buying a few pounds of N140 to try, but metering-wise it shouldn't be much better than H-4895 or RL-15, both of which I already have.

Dante and Londero are local enough for me. I just came back from Dante 2 minutes ago, but didn't even bother to ask. As it very often happens when I go there, I was just so pissed off at their arrogance and sleaziness that I couldn't bring myself to ask about powders.

I'll check with Jimmy (previously of Dante) at Londero tomorrow. I may have a couple of other things for him to order for me, anyways.

Thanks.

Thanks 191honda, I certainly haven't, but I am about to remedy that. I had never heard about them, but it is very refreshing to see that we might have a new option for reloading stuff around here. I'll try giving them a call today. Thanks.

René from x-reload is a great guy. He used to be located in Chambly. Now he's located in St-hyacinthe. But he can anything that you want.
