Hi,

newbie question for cleaning patch. I only pistols up to .45 ACP. The normal patches I bought are 2x2 inch which is a tad smaller for the 45 bore. I wonder if I could cut the disposble towel which was meant for cleaning auto parts to anything that fits. anybody is using that? it's like this one from canadiantire. thanks.

Crappy tire has large patches that you cut down to size in the gun section. $5 if I remember correctly.

1.5X x 3" is what my cleaning patch chart says for 30-45 cal.

I used the blue towels alot working in the garage and cleaning guns, I never thought about using them for patches. More durable then paper towel.

I will give a try then after next range session. Accordingly to the online review, it does not leave lint or anything messy. And it's going to be lot cheaper than buying patches as well.

The blue towels are some synthetic material. Go buy a yard or two of remnant flannelette in a discount fabric shop. Flannelette is the stuff PJ's and winter sheets are made out of. Cut it into 2 x 4 pieces. 60" wide give you hundreds of patches for under $10.
