Question for current m&p owners

Correct and melonite treatment process (think that's what they call it). But stainless steel still rusts. That was one notch for the glock- they are tenifer process that's immune to anything practically which apparently only gets done in Europe cause the health and safety nuts in North America say tenifer is too dangerous and extremely toxic. Apparently it has been a common problem with m&ps to have some slide rust when moisture is regularly on the gun, going inside and outside of buildings, hot cold etc. not exactly something I may be doing lots but what if its raining and I don't happen to clean the gun well and moisture is inside, I'd hate to have gun cancer set in.
 
The rust issue occurred in the first year of production, it hasn't been an issue since. I was shooting 2 pistols in freezing rain once, I put the hot M&P down and when I picked it up it was cased in ice - net result? Nothing, the gun not only worked perfectly, it just got a rub down when I was done. Still has zero rust to this day. The finish is amazingly tough - mine shows minimal wear after thousands of draws. Good to know enefgee, I may just take you up on that heading to the fish and game one weekend :). Seeing/hearing that former long time glock owners are making the switch re enforces my descision as well. Thanks guys.
 
Re- the CORE or the range kit; KevinB (lives in the US) has a CORE as his carry gun and says that the Apex trigger work isn't a necessity on the CORE guns, the way it is on the regular guns, which may make a difference in the gun you choose. Of course if you don't have the rest of the kit and don't plan to run an optic choosing a CORE probably isn't the most economical way to go.
 
i think everyone talking about putting new triggers in their guns isnt a necessity at all.

i run stock triggers on all my M&Ps and im totally happy with them
great guns to shoot.

i have a glock and i only take it to the range when someone wants to try it out or compare it.
i havnt taken it to the range to shoot on my own since i made the switch to M&P.
 
Yeah, I'm just going to echo what everyone else has said: I love my M&P. However, I dropped an APEX trigger with Forward Set Sear kit in it and haven't looked back - it's smooth, with a crisp break and super short reset. I also like how the trigger stays constant rather than bending in the middle like in the factory one.
