Hi

I just bought CZ97B today...could not walk away from special they had at Fishing World...$669.
I do have SP-01 Shadow that I absolutely love..and she was crying for a sibling lol
My question is...what can I expect from the trigger on this pistol ?( waiting for SATT to take it home )
Reviews on the net are split 50/50 on it . Is it a big difference from Shadow ?

Thanks

I don't have a Shadow(yet) to compare to, but the trigger on my 97B is comparable to my 75B-if that helps. Either way it's a very soft shooting gun that's easy to be accurate with, and at $669 you got a great deal!

The big difference is the firing pin block safety on the 97B. It generally makes the creep and reset longer, and the pull heavier. Some don't even notice it, but others do. It's pretty easy to polish the involved parts to make it less noticeable, or to pull the fpbs out entirely. If you go the latter route, I am 95% sure you can drop the pre-B sear in as well for an even greater improvement.

The easiest thing you can do with your new 97B is swap the mainspring out for a lighter one: This will have a huge impact on the weight of the trigger pull, especially in double action.

I installed a competition hammer in mine along with a lighter mainsrping housing. These helped a lot. The pistol is accurate. You can also used a buffer designed for a CZ75 in the 97B.

Enjoy,

Brian

The 97B is a bigger frame than the Shadow. But from what you guys are saying the action module is the same as the other CZ's?

I've shot the 97B they have at the local rental range and it's a pretty nice gun. Darn nice in fact. But for the amount of .45acp I shoot I've chosen to stick with the 1911 platform.
