I don't think there is much market for old industrial electronics. I used to work for the phone company and we sold off all sorts of old scopes and test equipment and they usually sold for less than the price of a 6 pack and often just went into the garbage. I hope you fair better, but unless it has some unique property, its likely not something anyone is willing to shell out a lot of coin for. I bought a really nice, minty oscilloscope on ebay for around $100 and it was modern and still useful.

That's for diagnosing electronic problems with radars, military radios and so forth.

If you're looking for a very nice income-tax receipt, try contacting the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum in Brandon, Manitoba. Set a value on it and they will give you a tax receipt for what it's worth. They have a whole bunch of Wartime aircraft and other military radios, mostly came from my Dad's collection; this would be a fine addition to their radio display.

For those interested, they also happen to have an airworthy HARVARD (Canadian T-6 Texan for John Sukey!), a flying TIGER MOTH (DH-82) and a CORNELL. Static displays include Bristol BOLINGBROKES, Avro ANSONS, Cessna CRANES an actual Westland LYSANDER and a HURRICANE. They also have the ONLY serviceable Mark I Link Trainer (the very first instrument-flying fight simulator) in the world; that was the last job my Dad worked on.

Help them, help us all, help yourself, all at the same time!

The RCAF taught my dad to fly on the Tiger Moth. I wish he was around to go see it. :(

He belonged to Canadian Warplane Heritage for years.

Same here, my dad flew Tiger Moth, Harvards and Dakota's in the RCAF. He also owned an incomplete Tiger Moth and Harvard. Both probably ended up flying again. I know the Tiger Moth did here in Manitoba.

Old test equipment gets chucked all the time, becuase the time and money to sell them is not worth the cost. But to some of us the old stuff has some great value, call the local ham radio group they will take it.

My high school had a complete Harvard, a cutaway merlin, a link trainer, a complete low hour orenda, & all kinds of other stuff left over from when they used to train military folks. Come to think of it, that place ( Central Technical Toronto) was a museum for vintage equipment of all kinds. Thats where the scope came from in 1989 or so. Its all gone now.

My brother went to Central Tech.

why don't you see if a school would take it

For the electronics program I think that there was only one scope in my whole high school.
