Montecs are awesome! Don't doubt them for a minute, however, if you're bow is not tuned properly you will have some headaches. I used them with success this year.
My friend uses spitfires and had no problems what so ever with his buck this year. Huge entry hole and made the heart look like it had been dropped in a blender. When he first bought them, he was skeptical because they looked so flimsy. We figured a blade would brake off it they hit a rib, but they didn't.
Why take the chance, I have to much repect for the animals I hunt.
Spoken like a true fudd.
Had someone not had the balls to stick blackpowder down a tube with a ball infront of it, we wouldn't have firearms.
If someone didn't have the hair brained idea to try and put blackpowder and the ball in a brass container for faster reloading, we could have rifles.
If wildcatters had not taken a chance, would we have some of the great bullets we have today like the .270?
Had projectile developers not taken a chance we would still be using nothing but cast bullets instead of something as advanced as the TTSX. (nothing wrong with cast though)
I have a lot of respect for the animals that I hunt, that's why I keep and open mind to new technology. If it can make me a more efficient hunter, great. Do I drink the koolaide every time something new comes out? Absolutely not. I research it and see if it benefits my current situation.
Trial and error are what makes us a civilization. If you don't try something new, how do you know if it's going to work? Simply saying this is the best that it's every going to be is absurd.
