i just aquired a El Faisan - SxS .410 double-barrel shotgun and was wondering wjhat size shell it will handle
it looks and feels like it should do the bunnies in this fall if i have the right shell/load.
what do you suggest?

Whoa! Hang on just a second. A good many of the El Faisan guns are chambered for 2 1/2" shells only. The proof marks on the barrel flats will tell you what it is chambered for. If you find the number 65 in a diamond, it is a 2 1/2 inch chamber. If the number is 75, then it is a 3 inch chamber.

ok so i looked it all over and found the following marks only
a serial number 63**2
cal .410
76

an "X" in a shield
a pheasant flying over a hill
"BP over "O" in a box
1100 kgs
made in spain in english and spanish

dwon by the trigger guard is a flying duck

maybe ill have to stick with 2.5 if icant find anything

76 indicates that it is indeed chambered for 3" shells.
3" .410's hold 1/16 of an ounce of lead less than a 28 ga and are very effective to 30 yards --- and are a hell of a lot of fun.
Cheers/enjoy
