I'm not quite sure what you're asking for? The number of shots fired while hunting and in preparation for hunting I think is your question?

For my Deer Rifle: I fire about 5 shots to zero my scope at the beginning of season and then during season it depends on how many partridge I stumble across. Maybe another 10-15. Usually one box of twenty will last the fall. Last year, one shot one kill for deer and maybe another 10 to bag 5 partridge....you try a head shot on a partridge with a .303! Anyway less than 20.

Over 500, it would be 2000-3000 if you counted rimfire both 22 and 17hmr. But I am still needing convincing why a gopher @ 150 - 200 yards with the hmr would not count. Heck a gopher at 50 yards would be the equivalent of a 300-400 yard whitetail

This years totals were down as my summer job kept me out of the groundhog field. Normally well over the 100 round number and probably about 60 of those just at groundhogs with the 222.

In actual preparation for the hunt. That's a toughy, I suppose if I limited it to the last month or so before the hunt, it might be under 200.
Depends, I have shot 200 rounds in one session easily, if I'm working the bugs out of a problem gun/load. I fired a hundred the last time I was at Bigredds.

I did not cast a vote in the poll as the numbers are far TOO SMALL
I regularly shoot in excess of 10000 rounds of centerfire annually, and 90 % of it is geared to hunting, at REALLY long range. To kill something at 800 yards and beyond requires constant practice at those ranges and further, just to ethical

There is no 1000-5000 option in the poll
This is my backyard range.... seriously more than a 1000 rounds easily.

Pretty fancy target retrieval system ya got there, BR.

I usually put several hundred down range with my hunting rigs.

I took the highest option given, but actually shoot at least 500 rounds of centerfire per year in hunting preparation. My rimfires get 3-5000 rounds per year, but a fair bit is casual plinking. Improves my offhand shooting a lot, especially when I usethe silhouette targets. Regards, Eagleye.

I usually have a half dozen options for hunting areas each year. Normally, each one could require a different rifle. So, that is what I do. I choose the rifle that will hunt those conditions by criteria of range, terrain, weight, species, and sentimentality. Although I may start with 10, I usually end up with about 4 that will be going out with me that season. I would usually shoot 20-30rds through all 10.
Then from those 4, I will normally shoot 60-80rds per rifle just to make sure that I have a good knowledge and memory of its personality and suitability.
If I have decided that I need a different round to make the rifle do as I want, of course I will have to shoot more.
I shoot about 150rds through my coyote rifle before season, just so I know I can make the longer (3-400yd) shots. And I couldn't count the .22LR I use on gophers in a year, which to me, is practice for hunting.

Added up, I am sure that I am over the 500rd count. Let's see...2-300 for basic selection, 250-300 for fine tuning, 150 for yotes, a half dozen or so for actual game animals, and 20 for yote kills. That'd be 700 or so, but that is probably conservative since I also use those same rifles for plinking at family reunions and stress relief.
