I have a quick question in regards to the M995 Action.
I currently own the TRG-S in 30-378 Weatherby Mag.
I had McMillan pull through on a custom A-5 Tactical Stock Package for me through one of our vendors.
However it is too much stock for my father, and he would like to go back to his original hunting stock, which is understandable. Nothing wrong with the stock, it is a work of art actually and truly one of a kind, just too much stock for the old boy.
My question is, if the action/rifle is chambered in 30-378 Weatherby Mag, would the same M995 action in another caliber theoretically fit into the full inlet of this stock, for example, a 7mm STW or 300 Win Mag? I'm about to post it here on the EE and wanted to get my compatibility features straight.
I ordered the bottom metal from McMillan who sourced it from Pacific Tool & Gauge in the States I believe. After checking out Pcific's site,when selecting the item there had been no caliber options...just bottom metal for the action.
Would I be correct in assuming that the bottom metal would then be compatible with other calibers magazines, etc? Wish I had another M995 to try it out.
