Question for those cursed with having to wear glasses...

Something cheap and easy to try might be shaving cream. My wife, once a month (she saw on Martha Stewart) puts shaving cream on the mirror in the washroom. Lathers it up and buffs it off with a towel. No fogging of the bathroom mirror for almost a month after that.

If ?

If you have nothing else - I hear smegma works also -

You can also squeeze a zit onto your lens and polish -

Any grease will do -

Check out a scuba supply store . There used to be stuff for scuba masks.

Also - rubbing a little wax on your lenses works .
I forgot which wax I used - bees wax I think , or maybe it was carnuba.

Yep, the scuba stuff might work but you can buy the same thing much cheaper at Shoppers Drugmart. Its called "Johnson's Baby Shampoo". Any liquid soap works but the Johnson's won't smart your eyes.

If you're about to purchase glasses anyway, check out "Decot". Their "Hi-Wydes" stand well away from your face thus staying cleaner and less prone to fogging. I like mine :).

After 50 years of wearing glasses, the only final solution to the problems in cold weather was to use contacts. I have none of the problems some others have experienced, and the additional superb clarity in the whole field of vision is really nice. No fogging, scope use is easy, binoculars work perfectly, just a great solution for me.

I use single use daily lenses, and use them for everything "outdoorsy" from hunting, to skiing, and even fishing (can wear good polarized sunglasses). The only issue for me is that at 62, I have to carry a pair of close focus glasses to read or maybe to tie on a fish hook.

I have used shampoo on my glasses and hockey visor. A couple of drops on each side and buff with a clean dry cloth till its clear again. I also used this method on a motorcycle helmet visor when I wore it snowmobiling...

i have tried dishsoap. just a drop or 2 .wash the lenses with water then dry .seems to work .
