Question for those that have experience with a 350 remington magnum

Whelen Fan here...........
250gr modest velocity.... in a 30-06 case.. .. what more do you really need? :)

the 350 rem would be cooler though i rekon.... enjoy yours.

I'm afraid I don't understand that Hoyt. Care to elaborate? - dan
Constantly downloading cartridges down to inferior cartridges is mostly silly unless there is a pressing need for a single rifle with full power and reduced loads... which does occur ie. A single rifle remote trip for big game with a small game permit aswell. However making every rifle into an SKS is pointless, just shoot a lesser cartridge... as cheap as you want to make your centerfire rifles they won't be as cheap as a rimfire .22 LR or .22 WMR. Unless someone.is afraid of recoil, but then just acknowledge that and stick with cartridges that you can handle. JMO... YMMV.

A good friend has used his Ruger custom 350 mag for about 30? years, one-gun owner so its used on everything and now used by his son until the young guy figures out what he wants. Shot mostly with Speer 180s iirc, but loaded up 250s when he was guiding
He says 180s worked for most deer within range, but like the 250s for anything larger
Custom on a light long action but iirc he just loads to regular oem length

I used the old 35 caliber 250gr X @ 2450 fps mv on big Bull Elk range about 80m at the shot a few seconds delay before it fell over dead right there.

I was gathering parts to make a 338 federal for a combo deer and moose gun. Not sure now if I will continue down that road.
Love my Tikka SS Lite 338 Federal and it’s an excellent shooter too .loves 160 TTSX at plus 3000 fps and 200 gr Fuson Bonded at 2700 fps . Very impressive ballistics from that 308 cartridge family case ! JMO RJ

My brother said the deer he shot with his 338 Federal was an instant knockdown. He was really impressed with it.
