Last night I field stripped my XD40 to clean it after a long day of shooting. I starting worrying that I had broken the slide. Today with fresh eyes and a cleaned up gun I think I'm okay.
Can anyone confirm if there is supposed to be a grove on the inside side of the slide, opposite side from the ejection port about 1 inch from the rear of the gun. It looks like it's a grove to allow the firing mechanism to move forward and aft (a little thingy moves on the frame when I pull the trigger).
After cleaning the gun I'm 99% sure that this is a machined grove and not something I broke. I took digital pictues but my camera sucks so bad there's not a lot of point posting them.
