Question for you guys about elmer fudd

What I can't fathom is why anyone thinks it's the other guys problem if they don't like getting empties bounced off of their guns !!! I personally don't get flustered if the person next to me shoots a semi without a shell catcher and they occasionally bounce off of me or my gun ( I usually shoot a Krieghoff (but also have lots of less expensive guns I enjoy) and I'm 60 so I qualify as a Fudd) but the sense of entitlement of some people with the " don't like how I do it, that's your problem" attitude baffles me. I wonder if I just picked up guns from the rack without permission then dropped them if they'd be "well, that's OK, that's how he rolls".
Nope..Just because you are 60..you don't automaticaly get your FUDD CARD
You have to earn it by constantly rambling about how no one needs or should own anything but a bambi killer and a punt boat gun..
Come on now you can do it LOL:)

If you are shooting ATA or PITA trap, the rules cover this. An ejected shell cannot reach the next person's gun. You have to use a shell catcher. But, I have to ask, what is the person with the Perazzi doing when the guy to his right is shooting. He should be waiting with his back or, at least, his left side to the shooter. How is an ejected shell going to hit his gun? Maybe he is a lefty. Why is he waving his gun around when someone else is shooting? There are rules against that too. Why can't we all just calm down and enjoy ourselves?

this guys got it right.... i've shot trap for years and never had a problem with the autoloader to my left. some had catchers, some didn't. when i shot, the guy that put a catcher on his 1100, usually just wanted to save his empties. i still shoot at a lot of private clubs, where most participants have automatics. never had a problem.

Imagine bringing your nice fancy gun out to the range and being worried about the POSSIBILITY of the finish getting a small scratch (that will buff/polish out with little effort). Sounds like a stressful life to me!

FWIW, I have little tolerance for inconsiderate shooters, but on a trap squad, I'd just made a point of not squadding to the right of Billy with the semi. Similar thoughts for ported barrels on a sporting squad. Somebody else can pull and score for that guy. I'll be standing off a ways waiting my turn.

Doing your best not to disturb or upset others on the range - any range - used to be called class or etiquette. Now it's called FUDD. Maybe it's time to make up some vest patches - license plates - bumper stickers - FB memes - viral FUDD videos. Proud to be a classy FUDD.

It is kind of annoying when shooting an Annie Oakley or a bushwacker with the guy beside you bouncing hulls off your gun. Or getting hit in the face. Even shooting a round of regular trap, I dont usually watch the guy beside me, I'm looking downrange. Again annoying being hit with hulls. I don't usually say anything because I want everybody to have a good time. Whatever - have a bit of courtesy - everyone can have a good time

Perhaps the Perazzi shooter should throw his empty hulls at the head of the semi-auto owner. Or maybe his $40,000 truck in the parking lot. :)

So here i am on facebook, just chatting away about shooting my a400 at the trap club, when this fella decides to go after me for using a semi-auto instead of an over under. he precedes to tell me that he spent $12,000 on a Perazzi and hates us guys with auto ejectors and semi-autos because the ejected shells could scratch his fancy shotgun... i'v encountered this at my local trap and skeet range on a personal level as well. i have been a member for about 5 years now at my trap club. and am curious. how do you guys handle these people ? every bone in my body tells me i need to tell him where to go and how to get there. but this scenario seems to be happening more and more. dont these type of guys chase away new members ? you hear it all the time including at my handgun range which i just took over for as head chair. its always the 60+ years old crew that seems to do it. why cant everyone just get along and enjoy shooting ? it baffles my mind sometimes. opinions ? ideas ?

Wow, the ignorance is thick in this thread. Your hulls shouldn't be hitting another shooter, or his gun. Use a catcher. Easy, and respectful to everyone else on the line.

And when a warm casing or hull goes down a girls tank top between the booboies everyone celebrates. ;)

I'm just wondering what the retained energy and expansion of an ejected hull is, it must be devastating.

People are very accepting of others, as long as they are just like them. :)

Can't a fellow just step back a foot or two, you are after all at the gun range.
