Gentlemen,
...I have found files that tell me about a part of the M1 Garand that had been given a wrong name. It has been called the "INTERCEPTER" by those who know about it, and it is still on the M1 Garand!! My Question is does any one have any data on this component and how it works ?
The data on this file comes from a VERY HIGH SOURCE at SA.

Clancy;
That is the first time I ever heard that reference.
Where did this come from...is it documented?
Cheers

How did I pick that up? I was ISSUED a M1.
We had a training film that told us NOT to mess about with the trigger group because the rifle could go full auto.

Now that brings up another idiocy. OUR "gubmint" decided that all those put togethers of the SLR/ FAL's from parts kits could NOT have the NEW upper recievers cut for the safety sear because then it would be a "machine gun" No matter that the SLR NEVER was issued with a select fire option. Only the heavy barrel version although both had the same lower.reciever.

In effect they made the rifle LESS SAFE!!!!! Due to bolt bounce, there was a possibility the rifle could fire before the bolt was locked.
Note, the sks HAS a safety sear.;)
