I toy with the idea of moving North once and awhile so naturally checked info on hunting in the Yukon. I see that there is alot of Native Band Territory there and that written permission is required (from the chief/band office) to hunt on whichever teritory you have planned.

My question is...is there much land in the Yukon that is not a Native Band's Territory?

OR

Is it as easy as calling up the band office and getting a written letter of authorization or is it a difficult process to gain access to the Native's lands?

Thank you

I work in the Yukon for 6 mos. per yr. I have yet to meet anyone in or from the yukon that would not go out of there way to help someone in need, especially a hunt . I would just go talk to some locals in carmacks, they will point you in the right direction , If your lucky you might run into Crazy Ray , he tells his buffalo hunt that will make your hair stand on end!

I have lived up here for over 40 years, and there is all the land you want to hunt without going on band land. But if you want to its easy you go to the band office of what ever band land you want to hunt and get a permit to hunt their land, cost about $20
