I am somewhat confused about these two issues.

1. rifle bedding
2. "tweaking" or "modifying" 1911 handgun to shoot proper.

If you have to bed your rifle, why didn't the manufacturer do that before selling them?

If 1911 handgun needs to be "twitched" and/or get worked on to shoot properly, why didn't the manufaturer do that before selling them??

Am I just being a noob or is there a profound reason for these that I just haven't learned?

Thanks:redface:

Some people think they can squeeze a bit more "accuracy" out of a gun by throwing all sorts of money at it and doing all sorts of "improvements" to their out of the box firearm...
Good for them.... Myself, I prefer to spend money on ammo and time on practice.
My stock, unmodified, un-f***ed with guns work great.

Sure... some guns are worth a bit of extra work, but then you'll get guys spending thousands on a gun that cost 'em only hundreds to begin with.

Confusion is manifest...
Guns are mass produced... They can be tweaked for improved performance, if done properly. Most out of the box hunting rifles that shoot poorly have bedding issues - typically a warped wooden stock.
