Hello gentlemen, I spent a good hour looking and could not find definitive answer to whether my Scout is blued or polycoated. It looks blued and I hope it is. So I defer to all of you CZ experts.
Proof mark and date pictures. 2006 is year of manufacture, yes? Thanks for your help
I read the 455 or at least some of 455 models are poly coated. I also read then confirmed when I closely inspected, my Slavia 630 air rifles are also poly coated.
Same here, I did pass on one. Well, the price was way over what I was willing to pay, so no big loss. So I kept looking and lurking on the EE for months waiting for a 16 inch CZ American or Scout. Then I got lucky and saw this one within an hour of its listing. Sent PM offer immediately and fortunately the seller accepted. As with real estate and life in general, timing is everything.
Some guys are turned off by the short youth stock, but short stocks really don't bother me. My Savage MKIGY also has similar short stock and it's a favorite shooter too. I will shoot them until my grandsons get big enough for their "toys".
I really think the finish on this Scout is blued as it looks exactly like my blued Varmint. But then the polycoat on my Slavia 630 air rifle looked like an impressive deep blue until I saw a chip....blued finish doesn't chip so that confirmed it was poly coat. To be honest, I do not like paint on my guns.
