Does anyone know what is the angular measurement in a standard Leupold Duplex reticle from the center cross hairs to the top of the post? My guesstimate is about 6 to 7 MOA?

It varies by model and magnification setting.

Get the Leupold Catalog here:
https://www.leupold.com/service-support/resources/digital-catalogs

Starting at page 84 are reticle subtensions. Good luck with that one. My understanding is that "thin opening" means inches at 100 yards, which is the value you're looking for. So for many scopes that's around 6 MOA at max magnification. If your scope isn't listed, you'll need the Leupold catalog for whatever year your scope was made.

There are tables around that correlate zoom setting on the scope to a distance when ranging an 18" object with the duplex reticle. From looking into this, it appears most people make their own. I will be making one for my VX-6HD, one I'll calculate and one I'll measure at the range.

It varies a little from model to model but I typically treat it like 3 MOA from the center to the point of the heavy post and 1 Mil to the thick part.(at top magnification) The odd time I even hit things.
