Hi

Im planning on attending a couple of 3 gun events in the US for the first time this year and i had a question regarding mags. Specifically AR mags.
What do you guys do to have full cap mags when your down there?

My first though was finding some good quality metal ar mags and removing the rivet when im down there, then re-rivieing when i come back.
I currently only have Pmags and I know for trying to fix a rivet in a polymer mag that trying to drill out the rivet on a polymags usually leads to damaging the mag to where it is very difficult to re-rivet.

So wanted some input from guys that do compete down there on what you guys do.

Thanks

A couple months ago I would have said just buy a couple when down there, but we know that isn't really a reliable solution any more.

Get yourself a dremel or a cheap princess auto knock off and drill them out in the hotel when you get there.
for pmags, you don't drill straight down or the rivet will start spinning and mess things up.
Practice going at an angle or using a cutoff disc/sanding drum.

Which matches are you planning on going to?
Sign up for the AR15.com pro/am match in Kentucky is next week, the 13th I think, in case you were thinking of that one.

RIght now im thinking CMMG midwest and FNH. The FNH has a nice offering for people who help work the event so i might do that.
