What is that mark on the top of the barrel knox ?

You mean on the flat facing up? It says 'Made in England' and there is a symbol in the center of the writing that I can't make out. When I have it in hand at home, I will take more pics if required, with better lighting. I took those in a few minutes in their basement and the flash was killing me.

Yes thats the one, perhaps the symbol in the center is 3 stacked rifles

I just looked it up, and that crown with BNP under it that you asked about is the British Nitro Proof, they had to stamp them with it if they were sold to civilians.
