Question on Remington 870 16ga.

I have recently been offered a 870 16ga. The gun is a freebee, being functional but in rather tough shape.
What I'm wondering is if its possible to convert the gun to 12ga. I don't have anything against 16ga. per se but I'd like to set it up with a 14" Dlask barrel and new furniture if possible.

I highly doubt it as the receiver, breach, etc, etc are likely the wrong size. Not even sure if a 16 is built on a 12 ga frame, but if it is older, it likely is.

If ya wanna sell it, I may be interested. I always seem to find old 16 gauge ammo kicking around gun shops, yard sales, etc.

Converting an old 16 ga 870 to 12 ga....

it would be cheaper to buy a new 12 ga.
