Question on tokarevs

I have done some research but I want to hear from some one who has actually done it.

Can you put a 9mm tokarev barrel into a TT33 with 9mm ammo in the X25 mags and it still function?

If so where would one find a 9mm tokarev barrel?


I know you can buy Zastava and norinco tokarevs in 9mm but I also like the historical aspect of a war time TT33.

I am interested in the switch because 9mm is cheaper and more available. Also most ranges around here won't allow steel core ammo.

The mags required a spacer for the shorter 9mm rd......Harold

A replacement barrel (9mm or 7.62) is the one almost impossible part to find.
Get a 9mm Tokarev and change the grips.Those that hate Tokarevs wont know the differents
and those that can shoot them wont care.

Yes, it can be done. I used to have one with both barrels & switched back & forth.
As already noted, the 9mm being a shorter cartridge, the mag may need
a spacer to hold the rounds a little further forward in the mag.
However, my 7.62x25 fed both rounds without issues.
Your mileage may vary.

Mods on a Tokarev? I thought the grips were too small so I wrapped ten or so elastic bands around the grip and voila!!!

Finding barrel is easy, fitting it to the frame and slide is the hard part.

Barrels are hard to find . I've been looking for quite sometime , I would say the only option is another gun.
