Some questions to all ACR owners.

1. Do you have to remove the barrel to access the piston for cleaning? Can you remove the piston without removing the barrel?

2. Also when removing and replacing the barrel is there a POI shift requiring a rezero???

I don't own an ACR. All the piston guns I have (AR's, Swissarms,) allows removing of piston without removing the barrel.

thanks!

Yohann you experienced this yourself? I was under the impression there was no shift. Haven't really tested this myself but I have taken the barrel on and off occasionally... I'll pay a closer attention next time and do it at the range.

Yes, I tried it with mine. At 100 meters my 1.5 MOA group shifted about 2 inches from initial zero. It was a 18.5'' stainless steel barrel from Herron Arms.

I usually remove the barrel when cleaning even though you don't have to. I haven't noticed any significant shift in POI. Just make sure it's tight.
I just did some trades and now have a FDE ACR instead of the black one and it also has a Questar barrel. I've only put a few rounds through it to zero the scope but next time I take it out I'll know if this one shifts with barrel removal and replacement since I plan to pull it out to give it a really thorough cleaning before I do some accuracy testing.

And yes you can remove the gas piston/rod for cleaning without removing the barrel.
