I just got a CNo7 rear sight for my .22 Jungle Carbine conversion. I removed the existing sight and it seems that the No 7 sight requires a different sized hole on one side of the sight ears. I'm not planning to alter the receiver so it seems it won't fit.
Did the C No 7 .22 rifles from Long Branch have different sized holes on the two sides?

It would seem the right hand pivot hole is larger. Left side seems unaltered. You would also need to drill and tap a hole in the receiver for the windage detent spring screw.

Did any of you guys ever notice that the windage screw (which goes through the bottom of the Cno7 sight) appears to be the same as the elevation screw on the no4mk1* mk1 milled sight? If you ground off the knob on the top of the elevation screw, I'm sure you would have the Cno7 part.

Cantom: why not drill out the one side? The Cno7 sight is a quality item. As for the small "clicker spring" screw, it's hard enough to find the screw and the spring plate; I couldn't imagine trying to drill and tap that tiny hole.

I hear you but the idea of drilling a nice receiver, a permanent alteration...I hadn't planned on that, I thought this would just drop in. Once drilled, that's the only sight that'll ever be usable again. I have several normal sights around and there's no going back if I don't like the no 7. Also, the hole in the No 7 peep is very small, it's pretty much a target sight...and I have an NOS Jungle Carbine sight that I dropped in there and it looks pretty good. I was a little unhappy with the amount I had in that sight too...and it's already sold.
Hopefully it'll be used to restore a real Cno7 rifle...

I have seen regular sights on Cno7 receivers. Guys just install a small bushing in the oversize hole to make it work.
I didn't think your sight would be around long at that price. Funny thing is how many of those are floating around in civvy world, while you can't order them in the DND cause the stock is all gone.

The CGNTZ member who bought it said he has a Cno7, so it's gone to a good home. It was gone within 10 minutes of listing it. I've already gotten paid...

Was that a too low price? :( What are they worth?
Anyway, I wasn't trying to make money with it, just pass it on to someone who didn't have to drill their receiver to install it. I got my money back exactly.

I did not see your listing, but when I needed a set, it cost about $50, and I was glad to pay it.
