Have you checked with Smith&Wesson? They might be able to help.

Very nice little six-shooter by the way!

It's actually a five-shooter.

I don't know if S&W could provide this information, but it's worth asking ! my guess is there won't be many of them ever imported in Canada.

With the serial# you could tell what year it was made, S&W began chambering the model 60 in .357 magnum in 1996 when the J-frame was changed to the J magnum frame (slightly longer to accommodate a longer cylinder). Available with a 3" full underlug or a 2.125" barrel. It appears there were some 2" versions, according to the text in the Supica & Nahas "bible".

My guess 1996, interesting since it was imported in Canada after the cut off date of 1994, it would be interesting to know the story behind this gun.

One of these has been sold in Calgary a couple of years ago by a gun shop, my buddy says they were asking $400 so even then they were probably $400 to $800 low depending on condition. I believe there's at least one in Ontario as well, but I don't know the barrel length. The local buyer here clearly stole his, and there are dealers in Ontario who would probably price one the same way. In this condition, I'd say $1200 or so? I'm figuring I've got at least another 40 years of active shooting ahead of me, so that's only $30 a year...

These are less common than S&W 940 and 640 and 442 revolvers, which are among the rarest of the J frames. 2" round butt 63 would be almost as uncommon as this 60-9 in .357... It will just be tough getting the money it should command.

I'm going to post a couple of rifles and a few pistols and get ready for your sale!
