Question regarding TT33 issue

I finally got out to the range today after way to long absent, I had my TT-33 with me, last time I was out it was working fine, but this time I ran into some problems that are leaving me stumped, hoping someone on here can offer some advice for troubleshooting the problem.

Basically what is happening is I chamber the pistol and pull the trigger and the hammer drops and....nothing, click and no fire, I thought it was a hang fire so I waited and nothing, so I pull the hammer back and try again, BANG it fires cycles the next round and then...click, pull the hammer and it fires and cycles again, then click, nothing again.

Not sure what to make of that, hoping someone could shine some light, next time I go out I'll take my second hammer group which I should have brought with me this time but didn't plan on running into issues.

Sounds like you need to replace some springs. My new to me Polish did the same thing as the springs were original. New set of Wolff springs now click bang all the time. You can sort of verify it by doing this. Remove trigger group, remove main (hammer) spring. It you can easily put it back in without stripping the skin off your thumb and fingers its toast. Mine was easy as I cleaned everything to improve function. When I got the new springs it was tight. Wolff has a minimum order so buy 2 spring kits, keep one for a spare or sell. Minimum International Order is $25.00 USD plus they get you with postage.

Could it possibly be due to to much oil? I noticed a fair amount and I'm thinking I was to liberal with it while it was in storage for the last 6 months, I noticed a fair amount inside when i stripped it at the range to have a look inside, didn't have anything to wipe it down with and it started to rain so I called it a day.

The Tok firing pin "swipes" the primer and the old surplus ammo can cause the firing pin to break.
Check that you are getting enough FP protrusion...if not, you may have broken the tip off on the milsurp ammo.

I have seen this with every TT33 except mine... The pistol range is littered with 7.62x25mm casings where the firing pin has "smeared" on the primer (I saw a brand new Walther PPQ doing this last time I was at the range as well). I have always assumed this was due to a weak firing pin return spring...

P.S. Ganderite, that's a sweet pistol. My TT33 likes those light for calibre .32ACP projectiles as well :) Although I've often wondered how those would hold up to expansion at the speed they're traveling...

Some later Toks were modified with a small design change that put a "speed bump" on the hammer.
This solved the swiping problem...relieving a lot of the stress on the firing pin tip. There are a few threads
on this forum discussing it, and Red_Bailey posted some interesting diagrams that show how it works.
