Is this what you are asking?
What is the effect of using a bipod attached to a carbine/rifle barrel?
What advice can you offer for using a bipod?
What are the pros and cons of using a bipod?
Precision rifles have free floated barrels for a reason. A bipod mounted on the barrel will prolly affect your point of impact, and cause inconsistency in your shooting. Basically all the weight of the gun is now on the barrel instead of the stock. Buy a set of sling swivel studs and mount a proper bipod to the stock. You will be happier. the studs should be next to free and you can get a cheap bipod from bass pro for 50 bucks.
