What is the absolute "heaviest" aftermarket stock available for a Savage Axis long action rifle ? I have tried to google-fu this to the best of my abilities without really a whole lot of luck. I have found some listed weights on fancy tactical style stocks that are very lightweight . I even reached out to Boyds customer service a couple times with this this question and have never received a reply.

thanks in advance for any answers.

A few years ago, I bought a Boyds stock to replace the tupperware stock on my Axis II 25-06Rem.
The Stock came with a warning label about over torqueing the action and distorting the wood.

The Stock required more 'stuff' once I got it.
In order to torque down the action, you need to replace the original plastic stuff:
-order a metal trigger guard from Boyds when ordering stock.
-metal clip to replace the plastic clip that holds the magazine in place.
-front & rear pillars so you can't compress/distort the wood

I got my clip & pillars kit here https://v3precision.com/front-magazine-clip-pillar-kit-savage-axis/

I find the rifle c/w Vortex 4-12*50 is heavy enough to carry afield. Rifle went from 2-3" groups with factory ammo to sub MOA with hand loads.

Years ago I tried a Boyds stock and after one range trip put the original back on and sold the Boyds stock - I can shoot MOA or better at 200 yards if I do my part on my Axis (factory stock) five shots. As for what I would do if I were you that is hard to say - not sure on your caliber or what your trying to achieve with your rifle - if it's hunting your first two shots at most are what's important.
