Question: SKS-Red Dot Sights

Question.
Who set Red Dot in place of sight-leaf of SKS.
Interests experience and actually as there is replacement.
Thank you for an answer.
 
If you are asking if anyone has replaced the standard sights with a "scout" mount and red dot?

I have using a scout mount and a bushnell dot. Didn't like it as the tube was too long and interfered with loading via stripper clips.

So I replaced it with an Aimpoint clone that worked OK. Still the standard stock is really too low for such a setup. A micro dot might be better.

I ended up selling the entire rifle and mount as I felt that an SKS should be an irons gun. I also have a few other SKS's :D
 
I tried different combinations of optics with my sks, including the scout mount, and found nothing worked consistantly well. I'm currently using a tech sight peep sight and it seems to work.
 
i've got a bushnell trophy red dot mounted on the front gas tube rail of the Tapco T6 stock... its been on there over a year... i've had the gas tube off lots of times for cleaning and always holds zero when i put it back on.. the gas tube is probably a better option for optics as it doesnt interfere with feeding strippers..

oh , you are talking about scout mount , i used it on my CZ858 but not in my SKS , i like the scout mount, i believe scout and mounts by drill and tap works best , i will get one in the near furture before the huge SKS shipment arrive . :D

Also does interest who can produced that substituting of regular sight-leaf by new?
