Question to target shooters only - what scope?

Yes, I print the scope tape and attaching it to the turret cap, this why the elevated-longer cap is a better choice. Even for your firearms I cannot imagine that you would be perfect shot (holdover/holdunder) in repeating distances between 20-30-40-50-60-70-100-150 yards/meters without turning clicks there and back all the time. This is not only a air rifle thing.
I see you you have a first person view into these four scopes. Mind you telling me some comparison for glass clarity? Thanks

Edit: this scope for example didn't had high enough turret so I printed a cap to be able to attach the tape:

Taller turrets are sometimes referred to as "target turrets".

I can see why you may wish to have adjustment-information on a turret if shooting at multiple distances in the course of a single shooting episode or event. As a bench shooter, I'm not familiar with having to change distances other than at 50 or 100. Air rifle field target shot from a fixed position, without the steel targets targets, of course, sounds a liitle more synonymous with your goals.

I've had a lot of benchrest scopes referred to in this thread, including the Sightron SII 36X (probably the most ubiquitous in Canada due to it's availablity at dealers), Weaver T36, and B&L 36X. The Weaver T36 is no longer being made, and the B&L has been discontinued for quite some time.

They are all good choices and with .22 cal. you can see the holes in the target downrange. Many anecdotal reports say that glass clarity is equal between these scopes and I tend to agree. If I was looking to buy one of these -- the SII 36X, T36, or B&L 36X -- I wouldn't hesitate about any of them. If I were on a stricter budget, the B&L would be my first choice as they are usually available for a little less because they are older. They are good scopes.

Generally, fixed power scopes are better quality than equally priced variable magnification scopes. In addition, when all else is equal, better glass is usually more expensive.

I currently have a Sightron SIIB 36X (no longer available), a new-to-me SIII 45X (to be tried out this season) and a SIII 10-50. I even had a Leupold Competition 40X but never got the chance to use it.

I shoot Benchrest BR50 under IBS rules. I use a Leopold Competition 45X.
My Centrefire Benchrest guns have Nightforce 55X.
Buy the best scope you can afford. When conditions - weather is not too good, a good optic will make a difference.

Some of our new shooters to BR use the Athlon 10X40X56.
Seem to work well in for a scope in the $600 range. Lifetime warranty, target reticle.

A random read and I just ran into one Weaver T36 at my airgun forum classifieds (actually two of these scopes), $350 USD, much better price then a T46 on ebay. Waiting for answer if the guy want to hassle with the shipping to Canada. Really like a higher power, as we saying "aim small miss small"...
Airgun competitions, the US Boys have 7 or 8 disciplines and the game is a serious money down there. I was training for years and then the mofo Covid screw me up big time I could not cross the Southern border. Maybe this year ?!
My FX Impact is tuned for 50 and 100 meters BR, mounted on a one-piece rest, and I shall be able to compete for EBR (extreme bench rest) with a bipod/tripod. The scope is a Falcon X50 (10-50x60)
The next my gun is a semi auto Leshiy2, I tune it for timed events (1.5 minutes) 5 distances (20 to 100 meters) times 5 siluette targets each. Also with this gun I can play PRS. The scope is a Nikko 8-32x60 which I would need to replace.

Scopes are restricted items under ITAR regulations and so exporting to an individual to Canada wouldn't be allowed. The long and short of it is that scopes in the US are not usually shipped to individual Canadian buyers. Buyers must source scopes in Canada or from sources from abroad that have no export restrictions.

I thought that some sport scopes were exempt? - dan

I know very well what is ITAR, for years I am suffering from it.
But, hypothetically, can a friend gift it to me? - a sporting goods item ... and it is a used item ?
I have a good chance to find it out :)

Edit: uhm sold in front of me

On this last day of February, the month has seen three fixed power BR scopes have been put up for sale on the EE. Keep looking. There are more every month.

What is that EE again? - Exchange of E?
Yes I have time for couple months until the season starts = I am waiting for nicer weather and don't want to get cold - bad experience, last January 2022 I had an internal bleeding needed serious surgery in "no surgeries allowed during Covid time".

The "EE" is Canadian Gunnutz "Equipment Exchange" forum. CGN members post equipment -- rifles, optics, etc. -- to sell. They can also post WTB ads, accessories FS or WTB, and other firearms and outdoor activity related items. After more than two years of membership it may be time to take a look at it.

He has a feedback score, he's just being a wanker.

I bailed back in post#8 but got sucked back in.
Feel sorry for grauhanen though, he wasted more keyboard time than me trying to help.

I just remember the history of his question threads. It's a common occurrence. I think they would be better off asking on larger airgun fourms. But with him only wanting to shoot bench with his solid rest system, why bother asking about FT or PRS?
