I was thinking of buying one but I have ran across some different versions.
what is the difference between 64 and a 64b and I read somewhere about a c version also?

How hard is it to get magazines and parts?

thanks

The original's came with a plastic mag,and all it's problem's.
The later one's came with a metal mag that's more durable.
You can get a conversion kit that change's it from a plastic to a metal mag.

Ok where can I find parts and magazines for a Cooey 64b?

anyone got a manual or schematics ?
Not much info on the forums about these guns

thanks again

My god man. A Cooey 64 which they use to make and the Savage 64 which they still make are pretty much the same gun. I don't know what you are having so much trouble understanding.

Cooey 64, Lakefield 64, Savage 64

Ok here is what you do. Take your 64 what ever number it is apart and then go buy a new savage 64 from yor local dealer for $150. Proceed to remove it from the plastic stock and place it into the original wood 64b stock. Tighten the action screws.
Triger problem solved. And cheaper than out sourcing a replacement triger.

i have a hiawatha, any idea how many different companys have had the rights to build the 64 model?

Guessing here...

Cooey actually manufactured them. Cooey were pretty cool about allowing other "brand names" on their stuff...After Cooey was taken over Winchester production of the 64 continued. Then Lakefield manufactured them. Now Savage makes 'em.

I'm not aware of anyone else actually manufacturing them outside the "big 3".
