I have the opportunity to purchase a rifle that takes .300 win. mag necked down to .264. I was wondering if I can just take .300 win. mag brass and run them threw my 6.5 swede neck sizer or do I have to buy custom brass? Is there any other problems that I am likely to encounter?

You will have to buy the right die 6.5 Swede is a. smaller body. You may get by with a 264 Win die by keeping it backed off from the shell holder,so it does not set the shoulder back

Not a wildcat expert but prob no can do with the 6.5 dies
Wildcat need wild cat dies in most cases
custom dies are big bucks

Going up in size you get thin necks going down you make thicker necks
so it depends on the chamber how gererous it is
you might be able to trim the thickness of the necks with a neck trimmer

Wildcats are sometimes are a lot more work

If you were talking about an improved shoulder -- those are the easy just fireform

But unless you can get dies it might be lots of work

what you have is basically a 264 winchester magnum. You would never fit your brass in a 6.5 swede die, plus the shoulder angle would never let you form the brass even if you could.

The 264 win mag is a necked down 300 case but with a 3mm shorter length. a 264 win mag die will work or a 300 win mag neck bushing die with a proper sized bushing. (Probably a .292" bushing) Nothing custom needed.
