Questions about my garands UPDATED!!!

I read through some of it and you can see the conversation go from people being excited to concerned to pissed off lol. The rifle seems to be in great shape and after looking at it closer, the bolt doesn't have any welds, discoloration or what appears to be pieces missing from it. The only thing I notice on the bolt is some wear on the parts that contact metal which I believe is normal for garands.

Have people with intact shot these rifles or is there no info on what happened to those who kept their rifles ?

Marstar parted them out
At the time, I think they kept the receiver , bolt and barrels and sold the rest of the parts

There was evidence that they had ground some of the bolt lugs to set up headspace - a quick and dirty solution. Grinding the lugs removes surface hardness which can contribute to development of excessive headspace as the softer metal becomes worn. Other parts should be OK.

Mine went back to Marstar for a full refund that included all out of pocket shipping.
Originally Marstar refused to honour their 'Ironclad warranty' and I involved VISA sending them all my photos.
With that knowledge and after speaking with John directly, they agreed and followed through on the full refund.

I'll never support or recommend Marstar after that debacle, and imho nor should anyone in the firearms community.
