I recently acquired this ammunition, and am wondering if anyone can give me any details about it. It is mid-to-late 1980s vintage Swedish made 139grain softpoint ammo, which was imported by Century Arms when they were still in Montreal. The primers are stamped NP which I have seen on Norma primers.

Do you think this ammunition was made by Norma, or some other Swedish firm using Norma primers? Is the NP stamp on the primers unique to Norma, or is it a code which is used to indicate something else?

Your informed input is appreciated.

A good picture or at least a good description of the headstamp would help telling what it is. The NP stamped primers are older Norma, but they were used by others too. The main Century imports were PPU, but they also imported stuff gathered here and there.

Given that the package is marked Made in Sweden, Norma would be a pretty safe bet.
I used to sell it. It is good ammunition, Boxer primed.

Not the common Norma headstamp, which uses(ed); Norma or NP, not what looks in the picture as being "DA"...
"HA" would be Danish, but even the Danish Norma rounds are marked "NP"....

Sounds right, Tiriaq. Then, the Norma connection may be right as they used to make brass for a lot of companies.
