If I understand correctly, primers and powders are considered hazardous and have to be shipped specially and cannot be brought over the border from the USA. Can un-primed brass casings and/or bullets be transported within Canada using simple Canada Post methods? Additionally, can un-primed brass and/or bullets be imported from the USA?

Not that I'd intend to buy from the USA. I'm mostly just interested about the shipping of brass/bullets and figure finding out about importing rules is good to know.

Thanks

USA is a no go for reloading supplies. equipment is ok from usa.
canada post should be fine for bullets and cases.

No reloading components may be exported from the states. Bullets, powder, brass, etc.
Tools and equipment are OK, like dies, presses, etc.
It has to do with terrorism, not hazardous materials.

Ordering out of the US on reloading components is a problem in general. Can't bring it out yourself ,either.
In Canada, shipping powder and primers is subject to hazardous goods regs, ground shipments only, costs money.
Bullets and brass in Canada, no issues except weight.

Great. Thanks guys. That's all about what I was expecting. I'm mostly just interested in finding out if it's practical to swap brass with people across Canada, but as you say the weight of brass might itself be the obstacle.

Bullets & brass can be gotten from the U.S, but the paperwork can be a PITA. Reloading International in the U.S explains all the paperwork that must be completed for them to send an order to Canada. I have done it, & you can save a few dollars if you are so inclined. Trying to bring any reloading stuff other than tools without the proper paperwork will get you in a whole lot of trouble with U.S Customs, you could even get banned from entry to the U.S . Here is the link to the Reloading International export page http://www.reloadinginternational.com/pages/ordering-instructions-for-canada
