Questions for owners of vortex red dots

hey guys,

I'm looking for a new red dot for my tavor and have been considering the vortex sparc 2 for a while because of its attractive price. Anyone who owns one want to comment on the build quality/ overall feel and function of the sparc? And before you tell me to save my money and buy and elcan, that ain't gonna happen. Lol

I don't have a Sparc2 but I have a couple Sparc1's that I've been using without any issues. They are great red dots.

Yeah I have had 2 sparc1 units for a few years. No issues other than short battery life. The sparc2 is upgraded in that respect. The strikefire series is also a good option. I am currently running a vortex spitfire 3x prism scope on my tavor. It seemed to work better for me than a red dot.

I have the sparc on my 308 ruger scou, it's my moose gun, and with the 2 moa dot, I should be able to shoot a moose to 400y without too much thought, my friend has the sparc2 in his 45-70 and handles the recoil very well, I wanted the sparc because of the magnifier, but I feel it was a waste since the sparc2 comes with lens caps and uses more common batteries

Sparc2 on one of my ARs and it works as advertised with no issues.

Have sparc 2 no problems but you might also want to consider the Holosun

Ive read good things on the holosun, but being that vortex has been around longer I think I would rather stick with them for piece of mind. Thanks though

The StrikefireII has 1/2 MOA adjustment vs. 1MOA.
And it's a little bigger?
Does that matter much to you?
I got my strikefire for $180 on sale so it was hard to pass up.

Have both Vortex Sparc 1 and Sparc 2. Both have had zero issues. Love the VIP Vortex warranty and the fact that Canada has its own Vortex warranty centre.

Have you looked at a burris fast fire?

I haven't really no. A little too small for my liking. I wouldn't mind one mounted on a 45 though with a 1-4 on the top!

Cool thanks guys. Anyone own both the sparc and fast Fire? If so what's your preference? Winnipeg gets pretty damn cold and sparc only has a -2 rating which pretty much means no red dot winter shooting. I do really like the small 2moa dot though.
