I just bought an M&P9 range kit from a site sponsor. I want to know the process, so I know what I need to do, from getting an ATT to registering it. So, the place I bought it from asked me all the info and I would assume they take care of the temp permit to transport it to me? What else do I need to do, because in another thread I saw people having to call their CFOs before the company shipped them their firearm. I can only apply for an ATT after I have possession of the firearm right? Do I also need to register it separately or is that down when I apply for the ATT? thanks

The vendor will transfer it to you, and the reg cert will show up in the mail, the vendor will
Get the stat and ship it put to your house, you may require another statt if it ends up at a post office
Instead of your listed address, so all you have to do is wait. If you need to speak with Cfc, they will tell you,
Don't worry about it.

As for getting your ltatt, that varies from province to province, and I don't live in Quebec

unless something has changed lately you will only get an LTATT when the club that you belong to applies for it. your permanent registration for the gun will come in the mail. the shipping and registration application is done by the store you bought it from.

Have you joined a range yet? Because the CFO will ask..

I thought I had to, in order to buy restricted. The vendor asked for that as well. I won't be home to accept the package. I've heard varying opinions on if I need a statt to pick it up from the PO, from it's ok as long as you don't open the package to calling the cfo and possibly waiting 2 days to get one for that just to pick it up from there.

I put on my purchase order that I was planning on joining club ###. my sale was approved within a week and I had delivery 4 days after that. you don't have to be a member to buy a restricted, but if you don't they'll limit how may you can buy and they will probably cancel your rpal if you haven't joined one the next time your renewal comes up.

"...joined a range yet?..." You join a shooting club, not a range. Several clubs can be using the same range.
"...don't have to be a member to..." Not according to the law, but the Socialist F**ks allowed the Provincial CFO's to make law by regulation and policy (and Harper continues to allow it), so nearly every Province requires club membership to complete a transfer. You can't shoot anywhere but a club anyway.

I just called the Quebec cfo and before they approve the transfer they said I need to apply for an ATT to the gun club. I thought you only do that once you have possession of the gun. Is that the normal routine? Before you even get the gun you have to apply for the ATT?
