Questions on Norinco 1911

- safety is freakin STIFF. At first thought it was seized but it wasn't. I have fairly strong hands and thumbs and I have to use a LOT of force with both thumbs to manipulate this safety. Not usable like this, needs some work.

Had the same issue with mine, give the hammer pin a couple taps with a punch and you'll see a world of difference. Mine was protruding just enough to catch on the thumb safety.

Polish the crap out of it! Norc's aint' pretty but man, they are none to fussy on what you put in it. So far mine shoot every time and I don't mind at all letting my visitors at the club shoot the hell out of it.
I don't like the ambi safey on the two tone though I do like the extended slide release and full size guide rod. Anyone want to swap my ambi safety for a regular one, pm me!

Won't be buying anything else until this election nonsense is over.

If I can push down on my barrel hood slightly when it is in battery, is the solution a longer link?

Or is it not quite as simple as a parts swap?

It doesn't seem to hurt anything so I likely won't worry about it in the end

I agree with getting a better mag. Otherwise, I was really impressed. Fits my hand excellent. I love the gun, and for the price, for playing at the range, it's great.

Mil- spec barrel's are crammed up into battery by the barrel link.
There is some slack & slop.

Match barrels have the barrel lugs hand fitted to the slide stop pin to push the barrel up into solid lock-up with no movement, and cannot move at all when in battery.

Sounds like your guns are doing what they were built to do, which is lock on the link, with some play left over to prevent breaking links & slide stop pins.
