What is the VERY BEST gun for wilderness survival?
Is the .270 WIN good for moose hunting?

Whoa you just hit a nerve with "Why would an honest person need an AR style Rifle".

I think an more appropriate question is why shouldn't an honest person be allowed to own an AR style rifle. The AR "Style" rifle is what our Armed forces use, it only makes sense to allow people to own it and become familiar with it. Also the main difference between a scary AR "Style" rifle and an autoloading "rifle for an honest person" from Remington is a whole lot of black plastic. Why one of our neighbours to the south use the AR "Style" rifle for hunting varmints, but of course that had to be restricted.

I'm probably wasting my time as I can't imagine someone asking such an obviously inflammatory question without expecting to simply piss people off, but there you have it.

No real firm answer for any of your questions, depends on personal preferences. Same as fishing - some people like casting, while others (usually lazy, low intelligence) would rather troll.

Based on some threads that have come up with guys like Capester, it is just as likely that this is a hunter who hates all other forms of shooting.
It seems our more vocal approach is making us enemies from within.
