Quick Holosun circle dot HS503C review (pics added)

Thanks for the review. I was on the fence about these, but I might just try one.
I was skeptic at first to be honest, after trying many budget sights, there are always things you expect to be bad, like glass is not very clear, anodizing is cheap, battry life is crap, fuzzy red dot....
this little sight however, has non of that, I also have a German hensoldt RSA with solar features, the RSA does not work as well and almost 3 times the price compared to this little Gem.

got the 503c late last night - mounted it, but havent shot it (happens 2nite).
my initial thoughts, to add to those already posted by FGN.

1. excellent glass, the circle and dot are crisp and clear (compared to the eotech and bushnell that blossom with my slight near sightedness)
2. the finish scratches really REALLY easy. Im talking almost with your nail. The black has come off where you insert a tool to get the battery tray out, and the black on the adjustment knobs protrusion (the tool designed to adjust the zero) has come off entirely.
3. do not like the need for a micro screwdriver to get the battery case out (but with 30k-50k battery life you ownt have to do this much and i used a knife)

mostly superficial complaints - we will see how it performs tonight or this weekend.

Edit: also
4. do not like the reversion to automatic mode after 12 hours. that is, after 12 hours it reverts from manual mode to automatic mode, which switches the single dot to the dot and circle (if you were in dot only previous) and turns on the auto dimness feature. however, if it is dark it goes to battery mode, and you can still manually adjust the brightness. TBD how i figure my pref. on these options.

Anyone find the mount came loose? Mine was sliding back and forth a quarter inch after zeroing and re tightening

Where are you guys finding these? Everywhere I have looked is sold out? The 503c isn't even on the Canada ammo website anymore.

mounted and zero'd - having some issues with the auto dim feature (ie. it auto dims in manual mode) - hopefully my retailer gets back to me shortly. also, the black scratches really really easy. purely cosmetic issue, but one to point out.

My 403C is holding tight atop my 12ga. I've not had any problems with the finish either. Maybe it's a little different than the 503C?

i am going to take the coming loose at face value, and assume user error.
the finishing is disappointing, but im ok with it
the dim feature not working concerns me, i was "playing" around in my house - and lost the red dot / circle entirely 3 or 4 times for up to 2 or 3 seconds.

That's no good! From what I'm told they stand behind their product, so hopefully you get it fixed up!

steve from srs and his supplier have been awesome to deal with so far on this. going to test out the new unit they are sending over and ill report back (probably a couple weeks out). i still think this is a great value play, and with continuous improvement from the manufacturer/factory it will continue to be so. i will also try to be more diligent with the lighten scenarios i test out and try to get the dot to do things it wasnt meant to do (ie. test the logic in the solar/sensor panel)

after several range trips this little red-dot held up well, I have used on my 12g benelli as well as my KAC sr15.
the finishing on the scope tube held up well, but the finishing on the adjustments caps are thin and started to wear off.
still loving the reticle which is much clearer than my Eotech 552, I'm selling my 552 to get another holosun.
this is me blasting off few rounds with holosun, 65moa circle dot is very quick on target.

The non solar models will shut off after 8 hours of no movement and still have the 3-5 year battery life. That is good for the safe.
