I live 300 yrds from a shotgun only area and there are a few bucks romping around.I dont usually shoot deer with a shotgun but Im gonna if I get the chance today What is the best choke for shooting SSGs or 00 buck Cant use slugs as there is a single projectile ban.Graham
 
Borrow a gun if shotguns are not your cup of tee, that way you can still hunt the area. Or a cheap gun with a rifled choke or barrel, and sabbot slugs. In close foster in any smooth bore shotgun will do fine, and fiber sights are not a bunch of money and easy to setup.

Try mod choke, if you have the time test both imporved and full as wel. Full will most likely deform the shot too much and open up your pattern, improved is what I use but I can use slugs in the gun as well. I would only use buckshot within 30 yards no matter what the pattern.
 
No matter what choke you choose ,take a few minutes and pattern the ammo you are going to use . I have had the same ammo act different out of different shotties. A few minutes at the range may save you some greif during the hunt.

Missed that, sorry , go modified smooth bore, with buck shot, and there is a wonderful choke that patterns very well with buck shot , cabalis carries it, but they don't ship to Canada. Brownells may have one for large shot.
