Quick M1A stock question/help

Fondle those walnut stocks....

Especially watching reruns of Full Metal Jacket's opening boot camp scene..."Private Pyle, did you join my Marine Corps just to suck ####? Well, I bet you suck so hard you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose..."

Now get out and shoot my PR matches (if you are close enough) with your SAI or Norinco scoped platforms! Like The Duck and Tank Soldier:

Seriously, enjoy that Loaded NM. How about a range report?

Cheers,

Barney

I have personally worked on 2 NM rifles in walnut stocks (came that way from SAI), neither was bedded.

It is an "add-on option", but not part of their "standard" NM rifles....

Unless something has changed in the last couple years...

Jobn

My national match came in a bedded walnut stock with a warning label to leave it in stock as much as possible and I did remove it because thats what we do and it was one hundred percent glass bedded

What exactly are your PR matches? Sounds cool and def something formal would be fun!!!

As for a range review, maybe once I hit the 1000 round mark!!! I think I would just embarrass myself currently :p.

Zero gun/function issues so far *touch wood* with about 400 or so rounds fired...I read and followed your thread post instructions on greasing up (heavily) the M1A and did just so.

As for "accuracy" I am shooting maybe 1-2" at 50 yards and 3-5" at 100...I am just using a block of wood as a rest just in front of the magazine and have shot a 3 different cheap ammo brands and have been messing with the irons and my POA a lot so I am sure the gun can do much better...just need to work on the ME aspect.

It has been a long time since I have shot a gun for accuracy (especially a rifle) vs. just having fun shooting pop cans and what not but I am enjoying it.

At the bottom (very bottom, way down) you will find a link in my signature line, that will take you to my business forum where you can look up / and read up all about Precision Rifle matches in Base Petawawa, ON. Come on out and shoot Precision Rifle because it's not a difficult match to shoot! Good fun, great community! Super jokes on the firing line and in the target butts!

cheers,
